City Honors School, #195

City Honors will have a tent set up at each regatta to provide food and a resting area for rowers before and after races, as well as provide a meeting area for parents. Look for the City Honors Crew banner or stop a crew member to ask where the tent is. Please stay clear of boats moving to and from the docking area - some sites are very congested and it's easy to get in the way of the rowers.

Stuff that every athlete should bring to every regatta

  1. School I.D.
  2. Your unisuit and long-sleeved JL shirt
  3. Water bottle
  4. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
  5. On cold or wet days--be sure to bring extra warm, dry clothes to change into after you race. Bring appropriate clothing for the weather: socks, shoes, boots, hat, gloves, a hoodie or jacket, rain gear, . Remember that wool and Polartec stay warm when wet, while cotton does not. A blanket can be very nice to have while you're waiting.
  6. A towel in a plastic bag. You can dry off with the towel and put your wet clothes in the bag afterward.
  7. Cash for a regatta t-shirt or clothing from vendors. Cash for food on the road if the regatta is out of town.
  8. Overnight regattas: extra clothes, extra money, HOMEWORK.
  9. Optional: snacks, camera, playing cards, books, MP3 player with earphones, folding chair, pillow.

Parents attending regattas MAY want to bring the following items

  1. Binoculars
  2. Folding chair, picnic blanket
  3. Rain gear, rubber boots, umbrella
  4. Water bottle, sunscreen, hat
  5. Reading material (there can be long wait between races)
  6. Food and water (food is generally available at the tent, but the hungry teenage rowers get first dibs)
  7. Bike for Welland regattas (Welland has a path the entire length of the race, and the tents are a long way from the races)
