The team has a Pot-Luck Dinner at the end of the Fall and Spring rowing seasons. We get together to celebrate the season just past, glory in our accomplishments, and tell the coaches thank you for all their time and expertise. The Spring Pot-Luck gives everyone a chance to say goodbye to the graduating seniors (sob) and to wish them well.
Let's see. . .how can you help with the Pot-Luck Dinners? Hmmm, you could bring food! Actually, each class is assigned a different menu item (freshmen bring salad, sophomores bring main dishes, etc) in attempt to create a balanced meal, so it isn't totally pot luck. But the food is always plentiful and sometimes delicious.
In addition to bringing food, you can help set up or clean up. Or, you could arrange the musical entertainment. Or, bring drinks, cups, plates, and plastic ware. Or, make coffee. Or, you could volunteer to organize the whole Pot-Luck Dinner and have the fun of telling everyone else what to do (that is, delegating). It's easy to pitch in because it's really informal.
