What does a Practice Assistant do?

The Practice Assistant helps the coaches by supervising novices on shore during practice at West Side Rowing Club.

Why is the Practice Assistant important?

Often, a group of rowers will be on the water with the coaches, while others are running in the park or on erg machines. We can't leave these rowers without supervision, so this volunteer opportunity is an important one. On a lovely spring or fall evening, this can also be a very pleasant job to have.

When do you have to be there?

On days you are scheduled to be the Practice Assistant, please be at the club 15 minutes before practice time. Stay until all rowers are picked up after practice.

If you can't be there when scheduled, please ask someone to fill in for you. As a last resort, please let one of the novice coaches know that noone can be there for that practice.
