When traveling with the team, I agree to all of the following:
Van assignments are made by the chaperones and, for safety reasons, cannot be changed before or during the trip. Each rower will check in with the van driver after each stop.
Room assignments will be distributed by the chaperones on the bus and are not to be changed.
Each rower will stay in the room assigned to him/her.
Rowers will not make any phone calls or rent any movies, etc. that will be charged to their room.
The time of curfew will be established by the coach and will be strictly enforced. There will be a room check at curfew. After curfew, rowers will not leave their assigned room without permission from their assigned chaperone.
All rowers must travel on the team bus or van to and from travel regattas unless a prior written request has been granted.
Rowers will stay with their boat or team during race times.
Rowers will be respectful when communicating with teammates, coaches, chaperones, bus drivers or other competitors during practice and regatta trips.
Rowers will support their teammates throughout competitions by sending boats off, cheering for other City Honors boats at race time, and assisting other boats in rigging and de-rigging shells.
Rowers will obey regatta chaperones and coaches throughout a regatta trip.
At out-of town regattas, rowers will not enter a hotel room occupied by someone other than a City Honors rower, chaperone, or coach. Also, no one other than another City Honors rower, chaperone, or coach is allowed in a rower’s room.
Female rowers are not allowed in male rowers' rooms nor are male rowers allowed in female rowers' rooms without the consent of their assigned chaperone.
Rowers understand the following infractions will result in being scratched from the upcoming race and sent home at their own expense. Additional consequences may be imposed by the Coach and by City Honors School.
a. Use or possession of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, tobacco or a controlled substance.
b. Use or possession of any object that can inflict harm or damage to property or people or that can be construed as a weapon. (This includes, but is not limited to, water guns, air pistols, and bb guns.)
c. Damage to property.
d. Stealing or shoplifting.
e. Loud and unruly behavior, including fighting.
f. Disrespectful behavior or failure to obey chaperones, coaches or bus drivers.
g. Behavior that has a detrimental impact on the performance of the team.
h. Leaving the regatta hotel or area unchaperoned without the prior approval of the chaperone.
i. Any display of inappropriate sexual behavior.
I understand this code of conduct and will abide by its rules and expectations.
