City Honors School, #195

The City Honors Crew program began in 1996 when a group of junior and senior women students organized a City Honors team at West Side Rowing Club. During their inaugural year, City Honors athletes won the Women’s Senior 4+ at the New York State Championship Regatta and captured 3rd place in the Women’s Junior 4+ at the U.S. Scholastic National Regatta.

City Honors students in both men’s and women’s crew have earned medals in the NYS Scholastic Championships, US Junior Nationals, US Masters Nationals, the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, and regional regattas in Western New York and Southern Ontario. In addition, our athletes have been recruited into prestigious college rowing programs at Boston College, Brown, Colgate, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Syracuse, Wisconsin, and Yale.

City Honors School is the only public school with its own rowing program in Western New York. Crew provides City Honors students an chance to develop a life-long appreciation for hard work, discipline, and teamwork.
