City Honors Crew is a club sport at City Honors School in Buffalo, New York. City Honors Crew connects Buffalo's nationally ranked public high school with its beautiful Lake Erie waterfront.
Led by dedicated, volunteer coaches, and supported by hard-working parents, City Honors Crew competes in local, regional, national, and international regattas, giving them a unique high school athletic experience.
City Honors Crew rows out of the West Side Rowing Club, which in 2007 opened The Charles and Marie Fontana Boathouse, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The best athletes will be selected to represent West Side Rowing Club at the Club National Championships, Canadian Henley, and Junior World Championships. Age categories: Junior B--Must not have turned 16 before December 1, 2008; Junior A--Must not have turned 18 before December 1, 2008. Saturday, June 20 at 8 am. Junior Men Info meeting followed by first practice. Practice will end at 11 am. Trial period ends June 23. The team will consist of 42 (24 Junior A and 18 Junior B) rowers and 8 coxswains. Monday, June 22 at 5:30 pm. Junior Women Info meeting followed by first practice. Practice will end at 8 pm. Trial period ends on June 30. The team will consist of 40 Junior rowers and 8 coxswains. All City Honors rowers who are not rowing competitively this summer are urged to attend one or more of the 2-week camps designed to enhance rowing technique and boat moving skills.
